Jill Thompson is an American comic book creator. Her first published work was in series published by Comico and First Comics, and she began working with DC Comics in 1990, illustrating Wonder Woman. Her best-known work for DC Comics is her run on Neil Gaiman's Sandman series, for which she illustrated ten issues. She has also written and illustrated a handful of spin-off books based on the Sandman characters, including Death: At Death's Door and The Little Endless Storybook.
She is also the writer and artist of the Scary Godmother series, originally published by Sirius Entertainment, for which she won an Eisner in 2001. She has also won a number of Eisner awards for her watercolor illustrations over the years.
Thompson is married to fellow comic book writer Brian Azzarello.
