Melinda Gebbie is an American comic book writer and illustrator who has lived in England since 1984. One of the premier female underground cartoonists in the 1970s, Gebbie contributed to the anthology Wimmen's Comix. Her first solo book, Fresca Zizis, was at the center of an obscenity trial in the late 1970s, and as a result the book was made illegal to possess in the UK.
In 2007 Gebbie married Alan Moore, with whom she collaborated on Lost Girls.
