Guy Delisle is a Canadian animator and comic book writer and artist who has worked for numerous animation studios, including the Canadian animation studio CinéGroupe. In 1997 he spent three months in China for the French animation studio Dupuis, and in 2001 he spent two months in North Korea for the French animation studio Protecrea. These two experiences were chronicled in Delisle's books Shenzhen and Pyongyang. In 2005 he spent some time in Myanmar with his wife, who was there as part of the Doctors without Borders program. His experiences there were detailed in the book The Burma Chronicles.
