Joss Whedon

(1964- )

Joss Whedon is a modern-day Renaissance man. Best known for his television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Whedon also produced the Buffy spinoff Angel, the short-lived but critically acclaimed show Firefly, co-wrote the script for Pixar's Toy Story, wrote various comic book series (including The Astonishing X-Men, Serenity, Fray, and parts of Buffy Season 8), and wrote, produced, and directed the online musical hit Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog during the WGA writer's strike of 2008.

He has been nominated for an Academy Award (for co-writing Toy Story) and an Emmy Award (for writing the Buffy episode "Hush"), and has won Nebula, Hugo, and Eisner awards for his work on Serenity, the Astonishing X-Men comic book, and the Buffy comic book.
